KONKURRANSEPROGRAM
INTEGRERT KUNST – FASADE NOVA {CICIGNONS PLASS}

1300 m2 (!) glassfasade med spesielt ønske om innspill for:
– Elektronisk kunst – Nye digitale medier – Interaktiv teknologi – Dynamiske løsninger

Arbeidernes Økonomiske Fellesorganisasjon (AØF) inviterer i samarbeid med Live2011.com Grand Prix i
Åbo2011 –Europeisk kulturhovedstad, Midgard Media Lab-NTNU og TEKS – Trondheim Elektroniske
Kunstsentertil konkurranse om utforming av integrert kunst i nyefasader i Folkets Hus. Byggetsom får nye
fasader ligger utmot Cicignons plass, Krambugata og Kattveita, med hovedinngang til hotell, kino- og
møtesenteret.

Folkets Hus har de senere år gjennomgått en betydelig ombygging. 1.del er gjennomført og omfatter
ombygging av fem etasjer til et kombinert hotell, møte- og kinosenter. Som en utvidelse av kulturtilbudet er
det planlagt en stor kongressal som ny toppetasje på Folkets Hus.
For bygget er det prosjektert en ny dobbelfasade i glass. Glassfasadene utgjør i areal ca.1300 m2. Den
kunstneriskeutformingen av denne glassfasaden kan også ta i bruk rommet bak glassfasaden, mot den
gamle fasaden, for evt. tekniske installasjoner.

Vinnerforslaget vil presenteres under Kosmorama i februar 2010, og under ”Live2011.com Grand Prix i
Åbo2011 –Europeisk kulturhovedstad”, og en plass i èn av finalene ”OPEN”eller ”PARTICIPATIVE Awards
Classes” under Live2011.com Grand Prix i Åbo2011 –Europeisk kulturhovedstad.

1300 m2 (!) glass facade that needs suggestions for:

– Electronic arts
– New digital media
– Interactive technologies
– Dynamic solutions

Arbeidernes Økonomiske Fellesorganisasjon(AØF), in collaboration with Live2011.com Grand Prix in Åbo
2011 –The European Capital for Culture, Midgard Media Lab at the Norwegian University of Science and
Technology, and TEKS – Trondheim Electronic Arts Centre, invites participants to design an integrated art
installation for the new façade of Folkets Hus.

The new façades face Cicignon Square, Krambugata and Kattveita, and include the main entrance to the hotel and the cinema and congressional centre.
Folkets Hus has undergone significant renovation in recent years. The first stage is now complete, and
included renovating five floors to house a combined hotel, cinema and congressional centre. To expand
the cultural facilities already in place, a new top floor congressional hall will be built at Folkets Hus.
Building plans include a double glass front, spanning approx. 1300 m2. If applicable, the façade art may
utilise the space between the glazing and the old façade for technical installations.

The chosen design will be presentedduring the Kosmorama film festival in February 2010 and during
“Live2011.com Grand Prix inÅbo2011 –The European Capital for Culture”, and will win a spot in one of
the finals at “Live2011.com Grand Prix inÅbo2011 –The European Capital for Culture”–either the
“OPEN” or the “PARTICIPATIVE” Awards Class.
