TEKS is not responsible for the functionality of the downloaded files or any damage they may cause to your game or to your computer. Some of these files replace files originally installed with your game. Make a BACKUP OF YOUR ENTIRE SIMS FOLDER before your complete this installation!

IMPORTANT: The PC files are zipped with WinZip, and we recommend this programme for unzipping. Within each zipped file are several folders, no loose files. If you end up with a bunch of loose files on the top level of an uzipped folder, or .bin files in your personal folders, then the process went wrong!

:-)~Watch your step and read these instructions carefully:
This applies to both Mac and PC: Inside of each zip or stuffit file are folders whose contents need to be copied into the corresponding folders inside the Sims folder on your computer. For example, the "til skins i GameData" folder indicates that the contents of this folder should be put in the "skins" folder in the "GameData" folder inside the Sims folder where your game is located on the hard drive. Inside the "til skins i GameData" you will find several sub-folders with names of the characters in the game. DO NOT copy these folders to your computer, ONLY THE CONTENTS of them should be copied into the game! Use the same procedure to install the Royal Palace.
Repeat: ONLY THE CONTENTS of all the character folders in the "til skins i GameData" must be copied to "skins" in "GameData" on your computer!
We do it this way so that you can install the characters one by one with the clothing that belongs to the character plus other necessary extra files.

THE ROYAL PALACE!
The Royal Palace is made in Sims. It replaces a building that already exists in the game. That is house no. 2, that big place in the upper right corner of the first neighbourhood. It has become quite expensive, about 300.000 simoleons! After you have installed the palace (by copying files to the right place as described above), you have to cheat a little to make the Royal Family rich enough to buy it... (When you install the palace, you get the message "Some objects could not be loaded." This is correct.) First you have to make the family in the game, and then move them to a house they can afford. Then you make them rich by doing as follows in the original game, not in any of the extensionpacks:

On the PC:
Press and hold [ctrl] + [shift] + c when you have the Royal Family in live mode to get the cheat dialogue up. Type Klapaucius and press enter. Then [ctrl] + [shift] + c one more time, and type !;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!: until the end of the dialogue window (alternate between exclamation mark and semi-colon and put a regular colon at the end). Then hold down the enter key. A message saying "No such cheat" comes up. Keep holding down the enter key. The message flashes. Hold down the enter key until you have what you want (up to 9,999,999 simoleons). And, presto!, the Royal Sims can buy the palace, but first you have to move (bulldoze) the family out of the first house!

On the Mac:
Hold down [ctrl] + [shift] + [cmnd] + c. Then do as described for the PC (remember [cmnd]), but type rosebud instead of Klapaucius. (There are other cheats for both PC and Mac that give the same results. These methods are the only ones we have tested. If you know of any simpler or better ways, please let us know. For example, the word rosebud can also be used in Hotdate on the PC.)
