About KLUBB KANIN

Klubb Kanin is a supersonic meta mill for the avant-garde and post avant-gardistic currents in Trondheim’s cultural underground. With a main focus on the audial as well as on integrated audiovisual expressions we regularly arrange concert evenings where both local and international artists get a chance to present their work. Our attitude is that the unestablished and works in progress are just as much welcomed as the thouroughly prepared and completed, and thus we create a unique atmosphere for both artists and audience alike.

Klubb Kanin has served as the launchpad for several well-established artists in the past, as well as being the only club concept in Trondheim with room for unknown and obscure artists working in the more experimental and uncommercial fields.

Klubb Kanin has a long tradition in Trondheim. Ever since 1997 concerts and mini festivals have been arranged, more or less regularly, in its name. Several persons has been involved in carrying the torch through the years, all of them connected to the mystical Origami Republika network – a sort of non-local, open secret socity / leisure time club for strange personalities of different sorts, most of them with an artistic disposition.

The local Klubb Kanin forces and TEKS went into co-operation in the fall of 2009, where TEKS is in charge as well as being financially responsible, with a wish to stimulate the cultural acupressure points of the city of Trondheim further. Since then there has been at least one Klubb Kanin happening per month, most of them in association with Babel Art Space.
