What we do:
1. Professional collaboration (networking)
Building networks between regional, national and international entities.
A core component of our work is to establish and maintain contact with and between individual artists, artist groups, institutions and other relevant communities within our field, for collaborative projects and information exchange. The annual Trondheim Matchmaking festival has been our greatest effort and our most important tool in this work.
2. Research and development
We help develop and test information technology and new technologies for artistic practice, aiming to facilitate the use of electronic, digital and new bio, nano and hybrid tools for artists, preferably in collaboration with research communities and other art based organizations.
3. Knowledge development
TEKS administers and runs courses and workshops for artists, educational institutions and others within the field. Developing a community and acting as a forum for discussion within the electronic and digitally based arts are an important goal.
4. Administrative support, consultation and advisory services
Continuously advising independent artists, cultural organisations and businesses. Facilitation of individual support as well as project based support. This may include training and help in planning, production and/or implementation of art projects.
5. Assistance with exhibitions and equipment rental
Assistance for artists, arts organisations and institutions in visual arts, sound art and performing arts.
We have projectors available for rent for art projects, and we intend to build a relevant inventory of equipment to serve regional needs. In addition to providing high-quality equipment at low cost, we use our network to gain experience and knowledge of exhibition technology.
6. Administration of project facilities
At the TEKS premises, artists has the possibilty to work on projects within mechatronics, electronics, software art and development etc.
Our workroom is available for artists for use in artistic productions and installations.
